Generous Adventures
Generous Adventures Travel Auctions is the only all-travel benefit auction on the Internet, also offering estate auctions. Our mission is to join responsible businesses, conscious-minded travelers and other individuals in an effort to make the world a better place. Toward achieving this, our small staff secures a host of quality worldwide vacations and estate items, lists them on our highly visited website, sells them to the highest bidders, and donates the profits to carefully selected non-profit organizations. We offer savings for travelers and collectors, publicity for providers and funding for our beneficiaries - Everybody wins.
We are a modest 'no-frills' organization and operate with four part-time staff and six extended support team members, many of whom volunteer their time. Our office is located in a private home at the end of the U.S. road system in Homer, Alaska
Generous Adventures' Staff and Extended Support Team

Terry Murphy
Awesome and Admirable Auction Director
Social worker, counselor, big brother and general bleeding heart, it’s no wonder Terry wound up connected with Generous Adventures. He trades collectibles between work, parenting and promoting human welfare. Terry doesn’t think outside the box. With him, there is no box.
Cathy Powell
Gorgeous Global Marketing Director
Cathy adds unparalleled enthusiasm to GA‘s colorful cast of characters. From a mottled background of business and marketing, she offers communication skills that AT&T could learn from. However stridently and full of gusto Cathy proceeds, she mixes a refreshingly honest approach to public relations and marketing with the gifts of knowing all the right questions to ask AND hearing the answers. She graces us with a gentle tsunami approach to marketing.
Sarah Robertson
Charismatic Contributions Manager
Sarah tripped the light fantastic into our World Head-quarters after fire fighting, commercial fishing, rounding up water buffalo and cooking on safaris. She spends her free time on the slopes of ski resorts worldwide. She volunteers with Challenge Alaska (another bleeding heart), and jokes that she will leave her husband and two kids at the drop of a hat for a good time.
Sally
Oberstein Magnanimous Founder and Director
World traveler and entrepreneur, Sally has produced fundraising events and organized special projects from coast to coast. Her quirky style, irrepressible dreams, and innovative look at the big picture, guide staff and extended support team at Generous Adventures. Her spontaneous sushi feasts and kayaking offers keep staff well fed and out of trouble.
Gay Rutherford
International Researcher and Envy of All Staff
Originally from southern California, this lighthearted travel enthusiast is on a trail to all corners of the earth. As she hops from continent to continent, this astute traveler keeps the “home offices” abreast of new and interesting adventures and accommodations.
Ron
Downing
Master Webmaster
After 20 years fishing the high seas, Ron swallowed the anchor and
misguidedly sought peace ashore in the gentlemanly occupation of pushing pixels
around a screen. Having traded a 4-month 12-7 job for a 12 month 12-7 job he sometimes wonders who's mastering whom.

Kevin
Bell
Innovative Business Consultant
Artist, teacher and businessman, Kevin applies his creative talent by thinking
outside the box. His brainstorming is responsible for Generous Adventures’ original and immaculate conception.
Shannon
Brooks
Merciful Database Manager
Shannon (www.sitecraft.com) brings serious online auction experience to Generous
Adventures. Based in Oregon, she is the invisible database puppeteer, bringing
invention, magic (seemingly) and life to this unparalleled undertaking. She does
all this from 2700 miles away and makes it seem effortless.
Alex Oberstein Knudtson
Original Office Mascot
This charming and worldly addition to Generous Adventures adds the ingredient that every serious business needs for levity. He’s tenacious, wise, extraordinary, witty, wizardly, composed and magnanimous. And did we mention an awesome skateboarder?
Lucy
Girl
In Memory of our Guardian and Faithful Companion
After being rescued from the animal shelter with no apparent history, this cheerful devotee welcomed GA staff and visitors until just before her 14th birthday. Lucy lifted the spirits of everyone she licked. She lives in our hearts since August 8, 2009.
